Youth Fitness Training

In today’s world we are faced with the nationwide child obesity issue which is due to modern technology, unhealthy food choices and lack of movement. Modern technology has moved kids from playing outside at the park to staying in and watching TV or playing on the computer. Unhealthy food choices for kids in school and even out of school have become more prominent and accessible, and lack of movement (sports, after school actives, walking to school) have all factored in to the child obesity dilemma that we are currently in.

It’s time to change all this and get the kids active again, when it comes to fitness kids are not built the same way as adults are. They have specific physiologic differences that make them unique which in turn needs a specific fitness program for their developmental stage. Body By Solomos has created a specific fitness program for each age group and differs from individual to individual. When it comes to kids it’s never too early to start a fitness program. When most parents think about fitness programs for their kids they tend to shy away from it because when they think fitness they think weights. However that is not the case. I would never make a kid start lifting weights until I thought their body was ready to handle it (in most cases at the age of 15). Body weight, resistance, speed and agility are all types of training methods used for youth training.

Even if a child is not obese or overweight, youth fitness training can help the overall body structure and movement. Kids who start training at an earlier age tend to have more confidence and are less susceptible to injuries later on in life. Fitness is great for their heart, their brain and their overall well-being.
